today... its the 1st August 2008, Friday... its the First day of the Seventh Lunar Month which means that i am a vegetarian today... being on the religious side, i'm a vegetarian for the First and the Fifteenth day of the Lunar Month... here Lunar Month = Month according to the Chinese Calendar... yeahhh... i'm trying to be a vegetarian for as much as i can though... meaning i am adding more days of vegetarian for religious purpose... ohh yeahhh Hungry Ghost Month officially started today... coz its already the Seventh Lunar Month... but its not really that aggressive or appealing... most Chinese "celebrated" the festival on the 15th... to the Chinese out there, u guys know whats about it... and for those curious, drumm rolls please... HAHAHAH...
Facts on Hungry Ghost Festival...
easy.... GOOGLE it... hahahah... as far for my knowledge lar, the Chinese believed that the spirits from the Hell were allowed to roam the Earth as the Gate of Hell will be opened annually on the Seventh Month.... there's a history behind it but i'm not sure about it... Most Chinese houses and families will give offerings such as hot n cooked rice, poultry, meat, sweets, drinks, fruits, kuih n as long as its food... you can actually see those offerings beside the road or in front of Chinese houses or in their compound... yeahh... these usually comes with joss sticks, candles, joss papers, paper offerings... We believed that if we give offerings to the roaming, hungry ghost , we will be blessed and protected from any unfortunate and unlucky stuffs during the Hungry Ghost Month... Besides that, Chinese believed that our ancestors will be visiting our house during the Ghost Month... thats why whatever we do at home, we will be watched over by our ancestors... and make sure we dont make them upset... yeahhh... melvin being religious here.... HAHAHA... or mayb i should write the Dont's which i know.... okayss
DONT'S during the Hungry Ghost Festival :
1) Dont go out till very very very late 2) Dont be so majal n point outside to ppl praying out there at night (cubatahh kalau mau take the risk) 3) Dont step on or clean the leftover ashes when you happen to see those on the road 4) Try not to eat anything which dropped on the floor outside your house 5) Try not to sit on the first row in the cineme... They are "reserved" 6) Dont look at the back when some strangers call when walking in the dark 7) Do not pee on trees or the grass (make sure u say sorry if u did)
i guess thats all i know... i know a lot but no need to list down everything here plus i cant remember most of it... hahahhaha... yeahhh basically have to be extra careful during the Ghost Month... you just dont know what will happen.... malang tidak berbau... xD tapi in brunei inda active lahhh the festival... unlike singapore... how i wish i can go to singapore masa ghost month... a lot of events going on there.... curious laa.... hahhaha... XD
so today the fifteenth.... after tuition in the morning, i had lunch with my family at wen zhi's vegetarian shop... yeahh we usually makan there on vege days.... hahhahah... i love the food there especially the buttermilk abalone n prawn... delicious... obviously the artificial one... hahhahah... then i went to the private temple... really busy folding paper offerings for the Ghost Month... every year, this festival is done very huge... yeahhh.... a big festival.... so basically busy folding the papers n i cleaned the temple la... do something good as well... can calm myself... i really like to go to the private temple during festivals... its just easing n i feel good there... hahahhah... old thinking melvin... teenagers nowadays dont really do stuff i do.... HAHAHAHA... i have a weird ambition from young... i think i am too silly to think of that... but i really wanna be that.... i know its impossible.... but just make it not impossible... i think i might become that one dayy.... HAHAHAH....
besides that, i've got weird dreams recently which i wish n SERIOUSLY, i wish it wont come true... maybe i should write it down here... i have short term memory... i'm afraid i wont remember this... surprisingly, the dreams got include wee hean n sometimes wen zhi... i guess i've been thinking too much lar.... just overexhausting my brain sometimes... sigh... but i wish it wont come true... i remember one of the dreams, wee hean n wen zhi just ignored me... i felt quite sad that time after i wake up.... another dream was wee hean actually chosed to go to hui yi n the others (i cant see them clearly in my dream) n abandoned me... surprising... I AM REALLY SAD abt that... its not that i am not in a good relation with huiyi... no offence... i've nothing bad with her....n some words to hean, dont be so cold to me la... u r sometimes cold to me... dun ignore me !!! i have this bad feelings ler.... =S u knew that i am not in a really good relation with hui yi now n yet u r talking to her at that time... sighhhh... dun wanna talk abt it... if i really continue, i'll go crazyy.... i just need to empty out everything on my head n stop thinking nonsense.... i dont wanna get moody... its badd...
i wish i can disappear from this burden i have to carry....
